Silhouette-training

Standing in front of a church in Valby last night after enjoying som Indian food, hot Indian food. It is fun to (try) capturing a good silhouette - this one is not half bad.

At the Busstop

If you live in H.C. Andersen country, you must be prepared for just about anything - like spotting a real fairy about to take the bus.

Summer in September - Part Two - Take Two

At long last, Blogger was on my side today and I was able to upload. Click on these first two and view them larger, you'll find that it is worth it.
Rebekka and Janke and I spent last Saturday out at Amager Strandpark. In April I took a shot of the Russian Church towndown knowing that the Danish princess Dagmar, who later became Empress Maria Fyodorovna was going to be reburied in September (see my blog from May 8th.) A 140 years ago, last Saturday, she left Denmark. So it was appropriate to chose that day for her remains to start that journey again. Her reburial is today, in St Petersburg, Russia were her husband Zahr Alexander was buried so many years ago.

This wessel, Esbern Snare, carries her remains.

Rebekka got her ears pierced last week, looks very nice. And I have now got the diamond studs that Anna made for me last winter. Yes, we are looking pretty sharp these days :)

A dreamy look into the future and I hope the sun will keep shining for her.

Two souls comparing their soles.

There was a techno party not so far from were we had our picknic, this young woman was very happy - her dancing does convey that I think.

A young girl taking a bike-ride on a specially built tricycle - most probably very happy to have the opportunity to ride a bike like most Danes do on a daily basis.

Summer in September

Yes, it is September 21st and it should be autumn here in this little corner of the world, but with temperatures above 20°C, it is more like summer. We went for a long drive today. First a picknic in Hellerup, by the sea and then we went to Raadvad. We visited both places last winter when the temperature was below zero, a huge difference of course.
The sky above was both very big and very blue but these two guys wanted to occupy the same place in space.

Circus - an adventure

One of my childhood memories is seeing the film Toby Tyler, a film about a boy that wants to become a a circus artist. My childhood friend Kristín and I still talk about that Sunday when we went to see the film. As I remember it, we saw that film more than once. I had no circus-artist-dream and it was only last week that I saw a real circus for the first time. I went with Rebekka and all her friends from kindergarten.
It was a treat of course and this afternoon Janke and I went for a stroll to visit the circus - the family that runs the Cirkus Dannebrog are friends of hers and as they are situated just down the street while they are in Copenhagen, we went to say hello. I took the camera along and this is Agnete, born and raised in a circus family.

From Fyn

And a shot from our drive back from Jutland earlier this week, sunset in Fyn.

Busy weeks

The last few weeks have been really busy. Articles to translate, research to finish etc. I got it all done and was free from Wednesday. Thursday I took the train to Hobro in Jutland and met Janke there. We drove to Aarhus to meet a man about a new car, and another man about a lift for a new car. We love travelling together and it would make it much easier if we could sleep in the car. So buying a VW Multivan or a VW California next year is the dream. We got answers to a lot of questions and we are closing in on what it is we want and what we can manage.
Today we just went for a little picknick, relaxing and enjoying the view. This little creature did not take any time off - a true webmaster.

And on my left, I am actually standing on exactly the same spot, this beautiful ship came sailing towards the harbour.

Trekroner Søfort - a place from the past

Rebekka and I took a boat out to an old fort in the harbour, a place were many battles have been fought. It is a fascinating place to be, many photo ops and Rebekka thought is was fun to run around there, upstairs and downstairs, outside and inside.

I guess there are a lot of ghosts there since quite a few must have lost their lives in battle there, but this is not one of them :)
